Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on
August 26 the 26th of August, 2002. He is popularly known as Lil Tecca. The
success of "Ransom," his 2019 single, helped him become a popular
star. The track was also featured on his debut mixtape Love You Tecca (2019)
that peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the
two singles "Love Me" and "Did It Again". The album he
released as his debut"Virgo World" (2020), debuted on the Billboard
200 at number 10. It contained the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs
"Dolly" as well as "When You Down". His second mixtape
"We Love You Tecca 2", was released in August 2021. It featured
"Repeat It" as well as "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe
was the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born August 26, 2002 in Queens, New
York City. He was raised in the Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens
and later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. From an early age, Sharpe had
aspirations of being a part of the NBA However, around the age of 12 Sharpe
began to turn his attention to pursue a career in music. He attended Lawrence
High School. Tecca was nine years of age when he began rapping over his Xbox.
Tecca and his friends would often make diss tracks about each other. One was
uploaded to SoundCloud some time ago, but it was removed. In the beginning in
high school, he had no plans to pursue a career in music and instead , he
envisioned becoming an NBA star. He began to take music more seriously after he
dropped his interest in basketball in middle school. His first song to become
well-known, "Tectri", was recorded by Lil Gummybear in partnership
with Lil Gummybear and released in early 2017. Tecca also released
"Callin" in the same year, which was one of his early songs. The
career of Tecca began a year later, with the smash single "Ransom"
released and uploaded to Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May
22nd, 2019. The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track
has had more than 900 million Spotify listeners and more than 300 million
YouTube views.
